What this is

RBaken is a pre-production prototype under development. It has not completed CE/RED certification and is not offered for sale. Nothing on this site is a product listing, an offer, or a pre-order.

A contribution is a voluntary payment towards the work on RBaken: the certification that is still ahead, and the next iteration of the device. You are funding the project, not buying an item.

The thank-you unit

Five prototypes are built. Each of the first five supporters is sent one as a thank-you. This is a reward for supporting the project, not goods you have purchased.

Changing your mind

Because this is not a consumer sale, the statutory 14-day withdrawal right for distance selling does not apply. I do not want unwilling supporters, so in practice: ask for your contribution back before your unit is posted and you get it back in full, to the original payment method. Once it has gone out, send it back in working order within 14 days and I will refund you then too.

If your unit arrives faulty

These are hand-built prototypes and some of them could have problems. That is part of what the field testing is for. If your unit arrives damaged, does not turn on, or has another clear fault, tell me within 14 days of delivery and include:

• your contribution reference
• a short description of the problem
• clear photos of the device
• photos of the packaging if there is visible shipping damage

I'll repair it, replace it from the batch, or refund your contribution, and I'll cover the reasonable cost of sending it back.

How you may use it

A thank-you unit is for your own testing and evaluation. It is a hobby tracking and communication aid for outdoor team activities. It is not certified safety equipment and must not be used for safety-critical, emergency or medical purposes.

Please do not resell or pass on a unit. It carries no CE marking, so putting it into someone else's hands for money would place an uncertified radio device on the market.
